A. Major Works, Certificate of Appropriateness

1. A request has been made by the Rev. David Moore to convert a rooming/boarding house into a three apartment complex. Rev. Moore will repair the roof, repair the siding and replace the windows. The property is located at 139 East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

2. A request has been made by the First Baptist Church to add a covering to the entrances on Harvey Street and add a stoop to the entrance on East Main Street. The Church is located at 113 North Harvey Street.

3. A request has been made by Mr. Marvin Maune, acting as agent for Progress Partners LLC, for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the exterior renovation and the development of the Louise Hotel property located at 163 West Main Street.

B. Minor Works

1. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Roberson Heating and AC to change out a 4 ton h/p condenser located at 217 West Main Street.

2. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Ms. Carolyn Kund to repair the porch flooring with tongue & groove flooring and replace brick steps on the property located at 718 West Main Street.

3. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Ms. Donna Brander to install a 2’ x 2’ wooden sign on the front elevation and replace an awning sign on the business located at 158 West Main Street.

4. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Ronald Clark to install a wooden handicap ramp on the rear of the property located at 334 West Main Street.

5. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Robert MacEwan to add a 4’ wooden picket fence to the front of the property and a 6’ wooden privacy fence along the side property line at 117 Brown Street.

6. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the First Presbyterian Church to repair the roof and trim to match the existing material on the church located at 211 West 2nd Street.

7. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the Hardee Company to change out the HVAC system on the property located at 739 West Main Street.

8. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Joe McCotter to construct a brick and cobblestone patio and a rock wall at the rear of the property located at 119 Van Norden Street.

9. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Gray Murray to repair the roof with like materials on the structure located at 711 Short Drive.

10. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Robert Pollock to remove a dead and diseased beech tree located in the rear yard of 627 West 2nd Street.

11. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Robin Banks to (1) install a 6’ high wood fence on the east and west sides of the home and (2) replace outside portion of HVAC system on west side of home located at 550 East Main Street.

12. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Herman Gaskins to replace the AC on the structure located at 214 East Water Street.

13. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Ms. Geraldine McKinley to change out the heat pump on the structure located at 405 East Main Street.
