A. A request has been made by the City of Washington Electric Utilities for a Certificate of Appropriateness to remove two 42” oak trees for safety purposes in the front yard of the property located at 735 West Main Street.

V. New Business

A. Major Works, Certificate of Appropriateness

1. A request has been made by Ms. Kathryn Nunnally for a Certificate of Appropriateness to remove the existing storage building and replace it with a similar structure in the rear yard of the property located at 501 East Main Street.

B. Minor Works

1. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. David McCook to repair the front porch, which includes the deck, columns, & fascia board, with like material on the structure located at 739 West 2nd Street.

2. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Louis Jackson to repair the siding, porch, windows & trim with wood materials on the duplex located at 406 & 408 East 2nd Street.

3. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Ms. Dorcas O’Rourke to: (1) erect a 6’ high wooden privacy fence in the rear yard, and (2) erect a 4’ high wrought iron or wooden picket fence on the front of the property located at 510 East 2nd Street.

4. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Michael Overton to replace the shingles with like shingles on the structure located at 400 East Main Street.

5. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Ms. Gwen Skinner to repair the porch deck, windows & trim, replace the soffitt and repair the eve on the street side. All repair materials on the structure located at 431 East 2nd Street will be wood and same size and shape as originals.

6. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for The String of Pearls to replace the sign on the front of the building with a 3’ x 6’ sign at 143 North Market Street.

7. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Clarence Tetterton to replace the existing awning on the building located at 143 North Market Street.
