IV. Old Business - Major Works

A. First Christian Church - A request has been made by Mr. Michael Dunn, acting as agent for the First Christian Church, to construct a new addition to provide a family life center, new kitchen, and classrooms. The new addition will also provide an elevator and new entranceway. The exterior architecture was designed to blend with the historic existing facility.

V. New Business

A. Major Works, Certificate of Appropriateness

1. A request has been made by Ms. Jane Buchholz to remove 4 pine trees located in the rear yard of the property because of damage to the trees and safety concerns. The trees will be replaced with appropriate landscaping. The property is located at 734 West 2nd Street.

2. A request has been made by Mr. Jim Spain, acting as agent for Beaufort County, to replace terra cotta tile with bronze capping to prevent further water leaks into the building located at 111 West 2nd Street.

B. Minor Works

1. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Harold Little to install 3 condensers at the rear of the building located at 717 West Main Street.

2. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for KARC Enterprises to repair the roof and boxing around the house with like materials on the structure located at 123 East 2nd Street. (Hospice House)

3. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Sweetwater Restaurant to replace two existing wall signs on the building located at 107 West Main Street.

4. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Chris Collier to: (1) repair the roof and boxing around the building with like materials, (2) repair the existing windows, (3) remove old existing a/c units, and (4) prune trees around building located 120 Washington Street.

5. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Brent Glover to construct a six feet high wooden privacy fence in the rear yard of the property located at 116 N. Bonner Street.

6. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Mr. Al Crisp to repair the roof and boxing around the house with like materials on the structure located at 118 N. Charlotte Street.

7. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Polovitch Heating & A/C to replace the gas pack on the structure located 526/528 East Main Street.

8. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Fred Fletcher/Jay Kriss to repair windows on the upper floors, replace original windows on Market Street, and do general maintenance on the building located at 100 West Main Street.

9. A request has been made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the First Presbyterian Church for the renovation of the organ/music room which includes the addition of a five foot wooden landing and steps on the rear of the building located at 211 West 2nd Street.
